Virginia’s Department of Rail and Public Transportation has released a new online map-based tool to help commuters plan their trips via bus, rail, car/vanpools or walking/biking. The new Trip Planner will equip commuters in rural areas with a tool that has more advanced capabilities than Google Maps, which typically focuses on transportation services with set routes and schedules, by providing information about micro transit opportunities.
